In 2023, Code returned with new hosts, a new location, and new opportunities for brands to connect with attendees during one of the buzziest weeks in tech journalism.

A New Era of Code

Pioneered by renowned tech journalists Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg, Code Conference is the premiere tech conference of modern day. In 2023, we set out to reimagine Code for a new era, bringing in all-new hosts, new programming formats, and new sponsorship opportunities for brand partners to participate in.

My Role

As the Brand Marketing Lead, I was responsible for bringing brand partners in to this new era of Code. Through the development of all-new in-market positioning, sales enablement materials, and innovative opportunities for brands to partake in the Conference, I helped steer our team through this successful re-launch of this beloved tech conference.

I partnered directly with our Sales, Insights, and Experiential teams to develop partnership opportunities for brands that expertly aligned their goals and KPIs to our ambitions for Code 2023, creating speaking opportunities and custom activations that brought their campaigns to life on our stage.

How It Came to Life

Across two days, we featured 21 speakers across the Tech, Media, and Entertainment sectors including:

  • X/Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino on the platform’s struggles with advertising and content moderation

  • Microsoft CTO Kevin Scott on how AI and art will coexist

  • Warner Music Group’s CEO Robert Kyncl on whether the first AI-generated song might win a Grammy

We also partnered directly with brands and sponsors to bring immersive activations to life for Code attendees including:

  • An Immersive AI Studio featuring Google’s groundbreaking Project Starline — a brand-new teleconferencing platform — displayed for the first time outside of Google HQ

  • Electric car test-drives with Polestar along with a speaking session where we discussed the future of auto technology and how it will affect the user driving experience

  • A high-energy afterparty with Soundcloud where we featured up-and-coming talent to close night 1 of the conference

  • A speaking session with Variety where we discussed Generative AI’s influence on the entertainment industry amid the timely Hollywood Strikes

  • A welcome dinner and speaking session with AlixPartners on how to maximize enterprise value with Generative AI

  • …along with other brand partners including BCG, Omidyar Network, and Luminate Data
